Pensacola Christian Academy

History of PCA

In September 1954, the school began its first year with thirty-five students, kindergarten through second grade, in a three-classroom building on Avery Street.

At the Avery Street location, a grade was added each year until the ninth grade. Grades ten through twelve were added during the mid 1960's after acquiring larger facilities in the Brent area. The school remained in these facilities until November 1994, when it moved to the present campus at 10 Brent Lane and changed its name to Pensacola Christian Academy.

Since its inception, the school has been under the leadership of Dr. Arlin and Mrs. Beka Horton who have guided the school for all these years. Their vision to produce an "excellent Christian academic program in a caring, Christian atmosphere" continues to be the heartbeat of PCA.
